The Running Joke is Sydneys newest and best comedy club. We work hard to book the best, most varied stand up comedy lineups. We are located in a basement bar that has an intimate and atmospheric feel that is absolutely perfect for stand up comedy. Come and discover why we are the most loved Comedy Club in Sydney, by audiences and comedians.

We opened our doors in August 2020 and we’ve already had some of the biggest and best names in stand up on our stage. Household names drop in, to have a laugh, work on new material and practice sets for TV or Festivals.

Our resident host and tracksuit enthusiast Daniel Muggleton, can work a crowd like no other. He also comes with a pretty amazing CV, having opened for Bill Burr, Jim Jefferies and toured with Steve Hofstetter. Daniel has sold out solo shows, been all around the world performing and collecting adidas pieces.

We have consistently varied line ups, with some of the biggest names and some of the newest side by side. We’ve already gained huge support and regular return customers, who’ve had some great things to say about us on Trip Advisor and on Google Reviews.
